A new Newport Beach eatery catering to health-minded people will open near Fashion Island on April 1.
Avocado Cafes will be housed in the Newport Beach Athletic Club and will offer vegan and vegetarian dining options. The menu includes classic café fare, such as soups, salads, sandwiches, and fruit smoothies.
Executive Chef Mark Nargi will use local and organic farms and only offer Boar's Head brand meat and cheeses. All the items on the menu will be made to order.
Avocado Cafes will host an open house March 28 to give locals a taste of its fare. The Newport Beach Athletic Club is at 1367 Avocado Ave.
